Chapter 353 Arriving at Dangping City.
"Hmm. Where am I?" an exhausted voice murmured slowly.
She opened her eyes slowly, and the bright rays of the sun entered her eyes. She used one of her hands to cover her face as she tried to adjust to the sun's brightness.
Taking her hand from her face, she blinked twice and looked at her surroundings in slight confusion. Slowly, the memory of what happened previously became clear to her.
"I'm alive!" Her voice raised a couple of octaves as she jumped up to her feet in shock and confusion.
Looking at her tidy body left her in shock. She had already surrendered her fate when they encountered the Necoris, but how did she survive?
Just then, she heard a low groan from her side, and two of her friends were waking up from their slumber.
Quickly, she rushed to help them up to their feet.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Young Miss, where are we?" one of the young men asked in confusion.
"Zhen Jie, how would I know?" The Young Miss shook her head. She was both confused and shocked. "Do you know what happened to the new group that arrived after us?"
"We don't know. The last thing I remember was the Necoris attacking them," Song Guo responded.
"Ah... What a pity. We warned them, but they did not listen to us," she said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"Since you're now awake, tell us where we are," a voice said from behind them.
What!
They jumped and looked behind them warily. They had searched their surroundings but found no one, and now a voice came from behind them.
However, when they looked back, they saw the previous group looking at them calmly.
"You're alive!" The Young Miss widened her eyes and was momentarily stunned.
"Are you the ones that saved us?" Song Guo asked after recovering from their shock.
"Yes..."
Huh!
The three sucked in a cold breath and looked at each other. This was the first time they saw a group of humans fighting and defeating the Necoris without losing an arm or leg.
"Thank you for saving us. I'm Wei Zhihao, and these are my friends." Wei Zhihao's voice was filled with gratitude.
Zhen Jie and Song Guo also introduced themselves and thanked the unknown group for saving them. Still, they wondered how they had saved them from the savage Necoris.
"Miss Wei, we're lost and far from home. Can you tell us where we are?" asked Su Yen.
When Wei Zhihao and her friends heard that this group was lost and far from home, a look of realization appeared on their faces.
Taking a deep breath, Wei Zhihao began to tell them where they were and their current location.
They were currently in the Boiling Desert, and the closest safe city was Dangping City. As for the Necoris, they were from the Tugon Kingdom.
The Tugon Kingdom was the land of the Necoris, a terrifying place filled with bloodthirsty creatures. In the Magma Plain, the Tugon Kingdom was one of the major powers that controlled the land.
One of the hobbies of the Necoris was hunting pure humans, using them as slaves, and eating them.
Far to the north was the Thunia Kingdom, filled with pure humans. However, they were weak compared to the Tugon Kingdom.
Even though the human land was called a kingdom, it was a large city with fewer towns surrounding it. The humans did not want to lose to the barbarian Necoris, and that was why they called their land a kingdom.
Lastly, to the far west, there was the Larilia Kingdom, a land filled with mixed races of both humans and Necoris.
It was the Larilia Kingdom that was holding back the savage Tugon Kingdom from dominating the world. If not for them, the Necoris would have long taken the humans as slaves.
Thus, humans were the last on the food chain.
As for the monsters that lived on the Magma Plain, their domain was the far south: the Burning Hinterland.
The Boiling Desert was a rocky plain with active volcanoes. Unlike normal volcanoes, the molten lava erupted from the ground slowly, filling the desert like boiling water and covering the high mountains.
But instead of water, it was exceedingly hot molten lava. Any unfortunate soul that did not escape before the molten lava erupted would die without leaving a corpse behind.
The main reason for the Necoris' pride was their ability to survive in the molten lava. Their thick scales allowed them to swim in the molten lava with ease.
Dangping City was located near the Boiling Desert, and it was the hunting ground for the people. The Boiling Desert was located at the center of the four domains.
After listening to the short history, Su Yen and his men realized the Magma Plain was far more complicated than the Blue Crystal, and they could only discover the hidden secret that connected them to the Lotus World.
Two hours later, they arrived at Dangping City. The city was surrounded by a tall wall made of strange stones.
On the wall were guards patrolling the surroundings with solemn expressions. Su Yen and his men looked at the guards without any change in their expressions as Wei Zhihao led them into the city.
When they entered Dangping City, they were stunned. By the roadside were many beggars dressed in rags with frail bodies.
Crying and shouting came from the side as they grieved. Children with lifeless expressions either sat on the cold hard ground or slept, waiting for death to consume them.
"Don't be surprised by this..." Wei Zhihao said casually. "This is the situation of every town and city around the kingdom. With the Necoris trying to rule the world, trade has become nearly impossible, leading to hunger and homelessness."
"Why don't you farm and try to sustain yourselves?" Zimo asked, shocked by how miserable the people lived.
Before Wei Zhihao could respond, Song Guo spoke. "Have you noticed the surroundings since you arrived? Everywhere is filled with molten lava. What could we possibly plant in molten lava?"
Zimo opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. It was then he realized the situation was more dire than they had imagined.
War was killing the people at a rapid pace, while hunger was another adversary they couldn't overcome.
He turned his head and looked at Su Yen. If anyone was going to change their situation, it would come from their Emperor.
