Chapter 559: Mysterious Inscriptions!

Chapter 559: Mysterious Inscriptions!

Ling Feng calmed his mind and carefully examined the space around him. He noticed that the surrounding rock walls were covered with intricate inscriptions and seemingly contained profound principles that were beyond his comprehension.

With his straight eyebrows furrowed, Ling Feng surveyed the vast space. Aside from the twelve crystal coffins and the mysterious inscriptions covering the walls, there was nothing else in the room.

Yet, none of this seemed to have any connection to the Reincarnation Sword Emperor's sword will!

But then, why did that force draw me here in the first place?

Taking a few steps forward, Ling Feng spotted a stone door at the far end of the space. He paused for a moment before walking toward it.

However, as soon as he approached the stone door, a burst of golden light erupted, violently throwing Ling Feng backward. The impact caused his vitality to churn uncontrollably.

"I can't get out?"

Ling Feng's eyes twitched slightly, and his expression darkened.

He hadn't found the Reincarnated Sword Will yet, and now he was going to be trapped here?

Dying alongside twelve powerful human emperors is certainly an honor—

Honor my foot!

Ling Feng immediately summoned the Eradicator of Realms and growled, "If you won’t let me out, I’ll smash my way through!"

With a swing of his sword, he fiercely slashed at the luminous barrier in front of the door.

Bang!

A powerful rebound force struck him, sending Ling Feng flying once more. The luminous barrier remained entirely unaffected, but the inscriptions on the stone walls began to shift and rearrange themselves into new, intricate patterns.

Ling Feng was momentarily stunned. Are these inscriptions the key to opening this barrier?

He focused on the inscriptions, noting their mysterious nature. Their transformations were complex and unpredictable, forming patterns that were too profound to decipher and leaving Ling Feng’s head spinning.

These inscriptions contained the ultimate truths of the universe—truths that even human emperors or great emperors might not be able to fully comprehend.

Suddenly, Ling Feng felt a slight tremor in the sea of his mind as his sword embryo responded to the inscriptions, sensing a kind of kinship with them.

Startled, Ling Feng was momentarily bewildered. But when he looked at the inscriptions again, he was shocked to find that their movements and transformations had become remarkably clear to him.

He focused intently as he tried to decipher some of the patterns, but even though the inscriptions seemed to move at a snail's pace, Ling Feng’s eyes soon became dry and swollen, and his head ached as if it were about to split open. Despite all his efforts, he couldn’t grasp even a single thread of their mysteries.

Fearful, Ling Feng quickly closed his eyes and sat down cross-legged to meditate, no longer daring to stare directly at the inscriptions.

"Of course! How foolish of me! My sword embryo clearly reacts to these inscriptions, so why was I trying to understand them with my eyes?"

Ling Feng cursed himself for his mistake and immediately released his sword embryo to begin sensing the inscriptions.

The half-step sword will spread out from Ling Feng, soon enveloping the inscriptions on the walls. Instantly, a cool sensation washed over his heart.

Ling Feng was momentarily puzzled by this coolness, but it quickly faded and was replaced by a searing heat.

As the half-step sword will swept over the inscriptions, the alternating sensations of heat and cold in Ling Feng’s body grew more intense. With each cycle, another inscription appeared in his sea of mind and hovered around the cluster of light formed by his sword embryo.

These alternating sensations persisted, and the inscriptions continued to emerge in Ling Feng’s sea of mind. This development filled him with joy, though he couldn’t yet comprehend the inscriptions. But who was to say he wouldn’t understand them after advancing to a higher level in the future?

However, Ling Feng’s excitement proved premature. Before long, his spiritual consciousness was exhausted, and his half-step sword will abruptly retreated back into his sea of mind. The sudden withdrawal felt like needles piercing his brain and caused Ling Feng to nearly collapse in pain. He started to clutch his head as if to stop the agony.

His current realm was still too low. He had only managed to sustain his spiritual consciousness for a quarter of an hour before completely exhausting it. To Ling Feng's dismay, as his half-step Reincarnated Sword Will retracted, the inscriptions that had been hovering around the sword embryo shattered.

Only nine inscriptions closest to the sword embryo remained intact and continued circling around it.

“Fuck!” Ling Feng scowled. He had exhausted himself, depleting all his spiritual consciousness, and all he had gained in return were nine inscriptions!

Just as Ling Feng was lamenting this outcome, the sword embryo deep within his sea of mind suddenly burst forth with an intensely bright light that shined directly out of his body.

In an instant, Ling Feng's entire being seemed to transform into a small sun that radiated a dazzling light and exuded a thick, ancient aura.

Hum!

A sudden wave of dizziness overwhelmed Ling Feng’s mind, and the next moment, he felt intense heat on the left side of his body, while the right side was gripped by extreme cold. Red and blue light surged from within him, illuminating the dark space as bright as day.

Although the red and blue light carried no apparent force, not even a trace of elemental force, Ling Feng felt as if a heavy hammer were pounding on his sea of mind, making his very soul tremble.

As the light shimmered around him, it resonated with the inscriptions on the rock walls. The inscriptions began to swirl throughout the space, eventually converging into an illusory figure.

The figure was not tall, but it emanated an aura of unmatched power. Ling Feng stared wide-eyed at the figure, swallowing hard as he murmured, "Is that... the Reincarnation Sword Emperor?" Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Soon, the illusory figure began to solidify, becoming more tangible. Meanwhile, the red and blue light emanating from Ling Feng grew even more intense. The inscriptions on the walls seemed to come alive as they leapt off the stone and transformed into streams of red or blue light that shot into Ling Feng’s sea of mind.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

It felt as though Ling Feng’s head was about to explode. One after another, the inscriptions were being absorbed by the sword embryo in his sea of mind. When every last inscription had been absorbed, the sword embryo erupted with a brilliant light that shot directly at the illusory figure in the void.

The moment the light touched the figure, its eyes shifted slightly. Immediately afterward, a sword of light materialized in the figure's hand, and it began to move gracefully.

Gulp...

Ling Feng swallowed hard, clearing his mind of all distractions as he focused intently on the dancing figure. A powerful premonition arose within him. This figure was likely the image of the Reincarnation Sword Emperor!
