Chapter 446 Fight (1/2)
Erix, Rin, Aria, Lily, and Isabella entered their first cave exploration after following the river path that led them one floor downward.
The cave had the same crystals as the previous cavern, but this one's size was ten times as big. It was as big as 100,000 football fields with giant crystal veins spiking from walls, floors, and ceilings.
The crystals oozed out a destructive aura.
"Where are insects?" Aria looked around while using her scout-type skill a cute angelic eye with a transparent color manifested.
This skill used Aria's Solenix element, the Exotic element consisting of (Light x Crystal x Water).
The eye-focused attributes of light's reflection and speed, the crystal's nature of being consisting of myriad properties, and Water's exemplified adaptability allow this Eye to travel and pass through anything as long as its power checks the marks.
Even if the Eye felt resistance, Aria could power it up to pierce through it.
This Eye could relay everything it discovered, but a multilayer of auras to Aria, with mastery of Aethir's attributes to give the skill this specialized effect.
On top of that, Aria put a rather dangerous soul vice in the skill.
To be through this scout-type skill that could see through and discover all changes within its area, it could further do something amazing.
If the eye entered a living being with a soul, It would be forced into a soul battle with Aria. This was labeled a limitation because Aria would face a direct danger to her existence.
But Aria's Bloodline had a boost in Soul, which none of the others had, and she had more proficiency in Soul.
As such, her power allowed her to use this eye as an off-offensive skill.
During the battle, the Eye's soul vice effect would activate, giving Aria information about the possessed enemy like its weaknesses, strength, state of mind, and such.
Moreover, she could cancel the battle anytime if the enemy's soul turned out to be more powerful than her soul skill.
In the group, so far only Aria had created a soul skill. It was an offense-debuff type soul skill created with the Impose attribute of Aethir.
Impose attributes could be used to control and manipulate things, thoughts, and everything by imposing one's mind on it, and the soul was a better conduct for it, so Impose-attribute was mostly used for Soul-skills, though it wasn't uncommon to see Impose-attribute used in normal skills.
After all, the combination of Aethir, Soul, Magic, and Physical Body could create a myriad of skills. One just needed creativity and comprehension to turn the seeds of creativity into ripe fruits.
"Something is there…actually, many things," Aria's brows creased as she observed life auras. "In the crystals and connected crystals from underground!"
Just as Aria finished speaking, a vast cavern shook while the giant crystal chucks also cracked.
"They are coming," Erix said as he, Rin, Aria, Lily, and Isabella became alert.
In the next second, the giant crystals on the floor, walls, and ceiling blasted, while the ground shook and cracked in many places before the anticipated Zigus Insects appeared before them as they emerged from the ground. They looked like a hybrid of mantis + crabs, made of exotic and tough crystals.
But something shocking soon happened.
The blasted crystals were absorbed in their body as they turned giants, their aura increasing in intensity.
Rapidly, they became as tall as 100 stories building with a menacing aura. Their total number reached 89 and the ridiculously vast cavern turned out to be a fitting hunting ground for them.
They targeted Erix and the group, some rushing towards them and some released lasers.
Erix, Rin, Aria, Lily, and Isabella didn't hold back in the slightest because doing that would screw them up. They used their Regalon drive, transformed, and disappeared from the group, each going in a separate direction.
The lasers that the giant crystal insects shot were big and a few even hit the other Insects. Erix and others thought that they would damage each other, but they were dumbfounded in the next second.
The crystal-laser attacks were like a reflective light against the crystal structure of other Insects! Upon getting hit, the lasers chaotically reflected in multiple directions, and when those hit the other crystal Insects, they further reflected in multiple directions.
In just a few seconds, the lasers covered 90% of this vast cave as Erix and others had to use defensive skills!
'Let's kill them fast, or we'll be overwhelmed,' Erix said, but a grin stretched across his mouth as he vanished from his spot and arrived before a giant insect with instant teleport.
A strange mark had appeared on the beast right before Erix teleported and when Erix used Abyssal Impale after arriving on top of it, the giant insect's head cracked and blasted before getting wrapped in a deathly dark purple vortex of Nihilir, killing it in the next second.
Instant Teleport was a sub-effect of a Movement-type Skill he made—Space Drift. He could instantly teleport normally without skill before, but this one was made with the rules of Soul Vice and attributes of Aethir, making it more powerful.
Space Drift was designed for Erix to travel efficiently through Space Limbo and teleport swiftly, but that was not all. Erix could mark a point of space on a living target and instantly teleport there unless there was some kind of barrier or anything that prevented him.
If he teleported to a Marked Target and attacked it, the Soul Vice would add penetration and breaking effects to his attacks on the target, with their effectiveness depending on the soul energy consumed.
If he failed to land an attack within a second after marking a target, he would instead have his defenses disabled against the target. This risk was high because he was going to a hostile target. If he failed to attack, the hostile target would surely attack and with his defenses disabled, he would be in trouble.
But his attack would never miss or fail on an unsuspecting target unless he fought someone way higher than him in terms of everything!
After all, Abyssal Impale was the kind of attack Abyssal Impale that would appear right in the point of space of the target and strike it even closer than point blank. It would literally begin the attack by being impaled into the target.
