Chapter 47 Chapter 37: Terrifying Combat Power

47  Chapter 37: Terrifying Combat Power

Jūbei Yamamoto was about to pursue Yan Fei when he noticed this unusual drone. Well-informed and widely traveled, he immediately recognized the drone as the US Army's "Predator Drone", as the US Army had deployed many of these drones on their homeland bases in Japan, where it was often seen in the skies.

However, the "Predator Drone" before him was a bit strange; there were no US Army markings on the drone's body, and it was slightly larger than the US Army's Predator Drones.

Just as Jūbei Yamamoto was puzzled by the presence of the US Army's Predator Drone in China, the drone in the sky suddenly dived toward him. Alarmed, he knew it was a precursor to an imminent attack and frantically evaded, and sure enough, the ground where he had just been standing erupted in a violent explosion.

At the critical moment, Yan Fei's drone finally made it back to Shanghai. When Yan Fei had uncharacteristically engaged Jūbei Yamamoto in conversation, it was not just to extract intelligence but also to stall for time, waiting for the arrival of his Drone Avatar. Now that the Drone Avatar had arrived, Yan Fei finally breathed a sigh of relief. With the terrifying combat power of the drone, he would wreak havoc this evening and eliminate all hidden threats. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Jūbei Yamamoto was horrified, having never expected the Predator Drone to attack him. Despite being a highly skilled ninja from Japan, he felt as powerless as a lamb when faced with a technologically advanced fighter drone bristling with formidable firepower.

With a wealth of combat experience, Jūbei Yamamoto dodged the first wave of attacks from the drone and immediately leaped into the nearby container terminal, darting between the tight spaces of the shipping containers, then used Ninjutsu to cloak himself, attempting to evade the drone's assault.

What surprised Jūbei Yamamoto was that the drone was equipped with a quantum radar far surpassing Earth's technological level. If a quantum radar could detect stealth fighter jets, how could it fail to see through a Ninjutsu that relied on deceiving the human eye for stealth?

So the drone flew over to the shipping container area and began attacking the hidden Jūbei Yamamoto. He quickly realized his concealment was ineffective, so he simply abandoned stealth and started maneuvering around the cramped container area, dodging the naval cannon attacks from the drone.

The drone's quantum radar had locked onto Jūbei Yamamoto and was using its 30 millimeter Vulcan cannon to attack him, but Jūbei was a renowned expert from Japan, agile and nimble. Coupled with the maze of containers everywhere, he managed to evade the drone's attacks at the critical moments.

Yan Fei, through his Intelligent Brain, controlled the drone, continuously firing the 30 millimeter naval cannon at Jūbei Yamamoto below. There was a series of massive explosions on the dock, and some mistakenly targeted shipping containers exploded and caught fire. Luckily, these were empty containers, containing no cargo; otherwise, the losses tonight would have been substantial, which wasn't Yan Fei's intention.

Jūbei Yamamoto, relying on his agility and the narrow container area, remarkably kept evading the naval cannon's attacks. This was the Shanghai dock, and even at night, it was ablaze with lights. The explosions were quickly noticed by people in the distance, and dock managers had already started driving towards this location.

Yan Fei had chosen to attack with the naval cannon instead of missiles for fear that the Chinese side would realize the drone's immense combat strength while clearing the battlefield. After all, the shock effect of cannons and missiles are not the same. If the government found out that a missile attack occurred domestically, they would surely initiate an investigation, which might uncover the secrets between Yan Fei and the drone, and they might classify Yan Fei as a terrorist to be targeted.

However, because of obstacles, the drone's naval cannon couldn't kill Jūbei Yamamoto in a short time, and now with time pressing, Yan Fei no longer concealed his strength, abandoned the cannon attack, and launched an air-to-air combat missile at Jūbei Yamamoto.

Although Jūbei Yamamoto had successfully avoided the drone's attacks, he inwardly cursed his luck. He had not expected that a US Army drone would appear at the Shanghai container terminal. This was China; how could a US Army drone appear here, and why was it attacking him? Could it be that his enemies knew he was in China and wanted to use the US Army's weaponry to kill him?

As Jūbei Yamamoto exerted all his energy to dodge the naval cannon attacks, he suddenly saw a fireball shoot into the sky from behind him, then turn a wide arc in the air, heading straight for him.

Jūbei Yamamoto paled with shock, for he recognized it instantly as an air-to-air missile from the drone, and it was heading straight for him as its target. Jūbei could avoid the naval gunshots in the tight space because those were in a straight line and could easily be blocked by the containers. But the air-to-air missile could make turns, and with its high speed, once locked on, he would surely be doomed.

Desperate, Jūbei Yamamoto ran, trying to find cover to evade the missile. Guided by the quantum radar, the air-to-air missile relentlessly locked onto Jūbei and rapidly closed in. Shortly, the missile caught up with Jūbei Yamamoto, and in his desperate gaze, it exploded violently.

Jūbei Yamamoto was indeed a famous expert from Japan, and his strength was extraordinary. He managed to avoid vital injuries when the air-to-air missile exploded. However, the massive power of the missile still engulfed Jūbei Yamamoto in the blast.
