The explosion flipped the carriage.

"Kh!" The count gritted his teeth while his knight protected him.

They managed to escape unharmed thanks to the knight's barrier, but they had to come out of the carriage to see what was going on.

"Sir, are you all right?" The knight asked with a worried expression.

"Yeah? What's going on?"

"I don't know. It seems we're getting attacked. We need to get outside the carriage… We might need to return to the city to get some protection if necessary." The knight heard the soldiers suddenly shouting, "Protect the count!"

"Enemies."

"Form a formation!"

The knight squinted his eyes. He immediately slammed open the door above him due to the carriage falling sideways.

Once he got out, he couldn't see anything due to the explosion kicking up the dust.

"Sir. Let me assist you." The knight extended his hand.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Also, you will need this sword. This is your first job. Show me that I made the right decision by giving you this sword." The count smiled.

The knight felt moved. "Yes, sir. I will definitely protect you with this sword."

As he lifted the sword with his left hand and the count with the right hand, the knight stood up and pulled both of them up carefully.

But all of a sudden, he noticed a shadow appearing in the middle of the dust.

"Enemy!" The knight pulled his lord sideways, but he realized that the enemy actually shifted his direction slightly. His target was actually the sword.

The knight wanted to pull it so that the shadow couldn't reach the sword, but it was too late.

Luckily, a few bullets suddenly fell from the sky and pierced through the cloud. The shadow seemed to sense the bullets and leaped to the side, avoiding the bullets.

After that, a howl rang in everyone's ears as the cloud of dust was dispersed by the sound wave, revealing what was actually going on.

Their carriage had been surrounded by at least thirty people. They had eight guards with them, so it wouldn't be enough. The knight was the only summoner among them, but the enemies had four summoners.

In addition, two of them were stronger than him. On the other side, he saw a giant wolf and a man standing on its back.

"!!!" The enemies widened their eyes, wondering how the count could actually recognize them.

"You are from the Essential Rat organization. You have been terrorizing this area recently!"

Nathan couldn't help but smile, thinking, 'I've got a jackpot. The leader is here. And Gray is one of the most feared summoners among the six summoners under Andreas K.'

Andreas was hesitating. Now that he had been caught red-handed, what should he do? Normally, they could actually get away, and those normal people were just there to scare them, which would make them relieved that they didn't attack once they escaped. And the count was supposed to be relieved and forgot about the fact he had lost his sword.

That was how they normally operated, and it usually bought enough time for them to run away.

But it seemed they couldn't run away.

Nathan's expression turned solemn.

'Andreas K and Gray have a total of 9 familiars at the master level, but Andreas K is not known for his fighting skill. Only Gray is notorious. Mad Wolf has two werewolves, which Fenrir can suppress.

The count was startled by the sudden offer. He was annoyed as well, but his knight was furious. He never thought that a good lord like Count Reysion would be targeted by them. So, he wanted revenge.

Nathan smiled.

Andreas shouted, "We ret—!"

Before he could shout, Fenrir let out another howl that overwhelmed his voice so that the others couldn't hear him.

At the same time, Nathan summoned Anubis, Nidhogg, and Jinwu immediately. The first thing Anubis did was to heal them, but it didn't seem to be necessary.

"We'll defeat both of them." Nathan waved down his hand. "Go!"

Without hesitation, all four familiars charged toward the enemies.

Andreas had summoned his familiars, and his subordinates followed him, thinking they decided to confront them head-on.

Nathan immediately shot four pairs of bullets that traveled over his four familiars, directing them to their respective enemies.

As expected, he would be handling the two summoners and one master level familiar.
