Chapter 2127 Anti Celestial Defences
The Daemon Corps was proceeding smoothly. More EX rank Demons had been killed when the Daemon Corps were scouring for food and they were inducted into the ranks as long they promised to change to human forms.
And as manpower continued to grow in Ress, the King of Ress and Head of the System Science Department had an issue they had to contend with. Unlike the Demons who had been appearing from the bottom of the sea, presumably from the depths of the earth, the Celestials were going to emerge from the skies.
That was the reason why Jin had been training so many Rifle Mages in order to combat this. He had been increasing the number of aviation missions for the Rifle Mages in daily training dungeon portals and they were increasingly handling Demons and Monsters that were able to fly and fight at the same time.
It was to the point where they were fighting wyrms and dragons on a daily basis that those beings once revered as gods in this world had been reduced to target practice they had to complete before the end of the day. Enjoy more content from empire
However, that was not the main concern. Jin wanted to maintain the edge that the Rifle Mages were able to exhibit when they were clearing the Demons. He wanted the Celestials to lose their advantage whenever possible.
Of course, there was the Anti Celestial compound which Ayse had refined to the point where she believed that every bullet and shell was like a dose of poison to their bodies regardless of the quality of their Celestial energy.
She was able to make Lord Vishnu kneel from just a bullet shot as if a human had been injured and bleed due to a regular size bullet. It was leaps and bounds from the initial prototype where Lord Vishnu could only get paralysed temporarily from the cut that he got from Jin.
This meant that the Rifle Mages were able to fight on equal grounds against the Celestials but Jin wanted more. Like how the Celestials wanted to use the Demons as an excuse to destroy the entire world, Jin wanted to bait the Celestials into using Ress or perhaps Lyro, trapping them or weakening them before they could use their extensive Celestial powers.
If that was not possible, he wanted to at least protect all of the Rifle Mages and his citizens from the possibility of a wide area of effect Celestial magic. After all, he was still traumatised by Half Ghoul Lord Derek's story of how the Celestials were able to wield magic that was capable of turning everyone into zombies.
There might have been loopholes in that story if told by one person but if all the zombies presented the same memory meant that whatever Jin had prepared might have been useless if they were not able to defend such a scale of a magic spell. That was why Jin and Ayse had been using Jin's improvised smithing skill to create an anti Celestial charm.
It might not prevent the person using it to be hardy against all the Celestial's attacks but it was at the very least, that they believed they could prevent such zombification or whatever tricks the Celestials had in mind.
In the meantime, Ayse believed that Derek was able to fall to such a state was also due to the reason that the entire world was void of magic. They had no magical resistance against them in the first place. Atopia was different, especially for Ress. Everyone had to be awakened to magic as long as they were designated to be a citizen of Ress.
This plus the charm would definitely provide such protection against wide scale attacks and even if it does not work, that was where the Daemon Corps was for. Ayse was not worried for Jin mainly due to the fact that he had the System's protection to some extent and not to mention he had a body that had been hardened by battles.
(Let's not forget about the weird regeneration charm he got as well as the Lord Vampire Bones that enabled such regeneration.)
Even without Ress citizens helping the fight, Jin still has his minions and the Pandarians working for him to fight against the Celestials. They also cannot discount all the automated defences that Jin had put up within Ress as well and it was to the point where this city could not be classified properly in medieval era terms.
It was a Tech City fused with all the modern inventions that Jin was used to and many more. Flying crafts and drones were used extensively to bring products around the cities while the land was populated with modern high speed trams.
Old model trains that had been utilised up to a few months ago had finally been scrapped and replaced with electromagnetic catapult trains that enable fast travelling between the city and the rest of the towns within Ress. Even with multiple stops, one could travel North to South of Ress in an hour's time. That was not possible in the past when people took weeks just to do so.
And with the capture of Lyro, Mage Engineers were already starting to rebuild Lyro, making it to be the Sea Fortress City with huge guns facing the sea. Of course, the Mage Engineers were not dumb in making them point only at the ocean. They could be manoeuvred to aim the skies too and they are not slow in doing so.
All this was possible due to Jin's improvised smithing and his recent skill increase, enabling the automation factories to produce such fantastic inventions.
If not for the automation factories producing modular installations, the Mage Engineers could not have expanded Lyro to the accelerated timeline that Jin wanted. At the same time, more of such automation factories were established within Lyro to create more automated defensive modules ready to be sent out for battle when the Celestials drop by.
What Jin could do now to make up for the lack of power and quantity is to do so through technological superiority. All he could hope was that there is no Techno Celestial that could destroy all of his items. That would be his and his army's number one target if he ever appears in the field.
