Chapter 365 The Darkness Inside
"Only the clan leader can learn this technique completely. I am sorry but I cannot teach you anything more than this about this technique unless you become the clan head."
Ruo'er lowered her head and clenched her fists hearing the old man's words. 'It's not grandfather's fault… he is bound by the rules of the clan. Besides, I need to get stronger and it does not matter if I do it with this technique or some other way.'
"Can you teach me how to fight then?" Ruo'er finally raised her head and looked into Ming Ye's eyes before explaining, "I can only use our bloodline to assist me in fighting on some occasions. I want to use our bloodline most efficiently."
"That I can do." With a wide smile on his face, Ming Ye started instructing his granddaughter on their clan's fighting style.
"We can start with you attacking me with all of your strength." Ming Ye straightened his back and signaled Ruo'er to attack him with his hands in the back.
*Boom!*
With a wave of her hand, Ruo'er brought her sword out and rushed at the old man. Just as she moved, several black tendrils started to come out of the ground and rushed at him from all directions.

*Woosh!*
Arriving above the Royal Palace, Wuhan changed his appearance before descending.
"Who goes there!" The guards moved to stop him but seeing his appearance they all bowed to him in unison.
"Continue your work." Wuhan waved his hands with a slight nod to the guards and disappeared from the place.
"Did the emperor look a bit different to you?" One of the guards asked his companion while whispering.
"Indeed, he looked a bit colder than usual. Maybe something happened."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Silence! Get back to work!" Suddenly their supervisor shouted from afar and gave them stink eyes, scaring them. They all ran back to their posts, returning to their duties.
*Tap!*
"Your Majesty! You are finally back!!" The minister, who was in the throne room handling Wuhan's work, cried tears of joy seeing him entering the room.
"Did something happen?" Wuhan looked confused seeing the state of his minister. His hair was all over the place and his eyes were red from staying up late.
He felt a little embarrassed seeing his appearance.
"The great clans are in turmoil ever since that ground shook days ago. They all wanted to know the cause of such an event and wanted to meet you. It was only after senior Ming calmed them down did they left." The minister went on explaining everything that happened in those days with him to the emperor.
"That's all since the day you left the palace." The minister summarized everything. Wuhan nodded hearing his words.
"Finish up here and go take a rest. I will deal with the rest by myself." Leaving those words, Wuhan turned around to leave.
"Are you going to leave again, Your Majesty?" Hearing the cries of the minister, Wuhan stopped in his steps and turned around.
"I will be visiting that person." The minister froze and looked at Wuhan with wide eyes but the man had already turned around to leave the room.
"Dear heavens, I just hope everything stays calm and the history does not repeat itself." The minister uttered under his breath before returning to his paper.
*Thud!*
As soon as he sat on the seat, he banged his head against the table, "like I can focus now that you said those words, emperor."
…
Wuhan walked through the well-lit corridors as the guards in the hallway bowed to him. Making his way through the stairs, he walked up to the next floor before arriving in an empty hallway where not even a single guard was present.
Arriving in the middle of the wide and empty hallway, Wuhan stopped walking and stood tall in the spot with his hands behind his back.
He blinked his eyes and…
The moment he opened them he was surrounded by a group of people covered in dark clothing. There was not even the slightest sound when they appeared before him.
*Thud!*
Suddenly, every one of them kneeled in front of Wuhan, showing their respects.
"Get up!" With authority in his voice, Wuhan ordered as every guard lined up around him. "Stay on guard, I will go ahead."
As soon as he said those words, every one of them vanished without a trace. Wuhan marched forward in the empty hallways and stopped in front of a closed door.
The size of the gates was double the size of his height. Raising his hands, he placed them on the gate, causing it to light up.
A series of arrays appeared in front of Wuhan before he injected them with his qi.
*Crank!*
*Thud!*
A series of mechanical parts moving echoed in the empty hallway before the arrays started to rotate.
An illusionary lock made of arrays and bindings appeared in front of Wuhan. His storage ring glowed and a metallic key appeared in his hands.
*Clank!*
Fitting the key in the lock, he rotated it clockwise before backing away.
*Clang!* *Bang!*
*Creak!*
The bindings started to shatter one by one as the lock disappeared into fragments. The huge doors started to open slowly inward before a room filled with darkness appeared before him.
Wuhan placed the key back in his ring and took a deep breath before entering the room.
*Woosh!*
As soon as he placed his foot in the room, Wuhan felt a cold wind blow past him. The whole room was filled with haunting silence and an eerie presence.
"Shaaa~"
The sound of someone taking a breath entered his ears as Wuhan continued to walk forward without being bothered by the darkness.
Suddenly, his surroundings changed, and he found himself in an entirely different place.
The sun hit him in the face, causing him to block it with his hands.
"Ho~ You came to meet me?" Hearing an ethereal voice from behind him. But to Wuhan, that voice sounded scary and cold. He even felt a shiver running down his spine.
