Chapter 370 Turning the Tide - Part 3
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of battle reverberated throughout Dongping City, throwing all the common people into a panic. The mere sight of Necoris walking confidently through their streets almost drove some to lose their minds.
In the northern part of the city, a terrifying battle was ongoing.
"So you're part of the traitors," a young man named Tan Fu said with disdain.
Surrounded by enemies, Tan Fu and his team were not scared at all, holding their ground bravely.
"Tan Fu, you're a rare talent. Why do you want to waste your life on such a meaningless fight?" Xiong Da asked, trying to persuade him.
He was a thin, handsome young man who had been friends with Tan Fu, and they both joined the Celestial Heavenly Store at the same time.
Their teams worked together to complete missions, strengthening the bond between them and their teams.
Unfortunately, Xiong Da was a spy sent by the Fang Clan to steal the superior-grade cultivation technique.
Knowing this, he had tried to recruit Tan Fu to join the Fang Clan, but Tan Fu was adamant about remaining free and not working for any clan.
Looking at his once-close friend, Xiong Da had a bitter smile on his face. Behind him were his team and the warriors from the Fang Clan.
Most of the warriors were experienced Second-Rated Martial Artists. They might not be as powerful as Body Building realm stage 1 cultivators, but as a group, they could overwhelm any cultivator.
Therefore, Xiong Da did not think Tan Fu could escape from their clutches.
Tan Fu looked at him as if knowing what was going on in his mind. "I don't need your pity. If you want to fight, let's fight."
With that, he and his team charged toward Xiong Da.
"Fine. Since you did not appreciate my sincerity, then die." Xiong Da turned sinister as he raised his saber and charged toward his friend.
Bang! Bang!
As the battle raged on in the northern part of the city, in the center of the city, Ten Wen was locked in a deadly battle with Fu Shun.
Blood splashed to the ground, cries of pain permeated the air. Some, lucky enough to survive, clutched their fractured hands, despair etched on their faces.
Besides Ten Wen was a girl with dual daggers, fresh blood marring her face, but it did not stop her strong killing intent.
"Traitors must die," she muttered, her heart burning with hatred as she dashed toward a martial artist before her.
Clank! Clank!n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Her daggers cut through rows of weapons as if they were pieces of paper.
"Death Cleave!"
Her daggers left a trail of death as they moved at breathtaking speed toward the two dumbfounded martial artists.
Splat!
Blood splattered from their throats as they staggered back, holding their necks.
They looked at Shao An before their expressions turned into ones of unwillingness. One of them tried to open his mouth to speak, only to make a guttural sound, blood gushing out.
Thud!
He fell, never to wake up again.
Fu Shun watched the scene out of the corner of his eye, and a shiver ran down his spine.
He had targeted Ten Wen and her team, knowing they were one of the strongest teams in the store.
But never in his wildest dreams did he think that the quiet Shao An would be the most terrifying one.
She alone had killed more than half of his team.
Filled with regret, he increased his power, sending a barrage of attacks at Ten Wen.
Ten Wen, wielding her broadsword, was not intimidated at all and parried each of his attacks. While parrying Fu Shun's attacks, she also avoided a sneak attack from the woman on her right.
She was fighting two against one and was not losing.
Just as the woman on her right prepared to launch another attack, a cold, deadly dagger appeared in her peripheral vision.
'Danger!' she screamed internally and retreated.
Unfortunately for her, Shao An was more of an assassin than a warrior. Once she locked onto her target, she never missed.
Avoiding the first dagger, the second came sweeping down on the woman's leg.
Ahhh!
Shao An cleaved her leg in two, sending one part into the air, and without stopping her movement, the other dagger lodged deep into the woman's chest, piercing her heart.
The woman stared at Shao An with wide eyes, unable to believe her demise.
Realizing the woman's death, fear gripped Fu Shun's heart like a vice. Without hesitation, he prepared to escape.
Unfortunately for him, what met him was Ten Wen's deadly sword strike.
"Paralysis Hit!"
Ahhh!
Fu Shun's miserable shriek echoed into the quiet night as he fell to the ground, blood splashing from his mouth.
His back bore a deep cut that exposed his bones, and any more attacks would shatter his spinal cord.
With difficulty, he turned and looked at Ten Wen with a dreadful expression. "P-Please… don't kill me," he pleaded.
He had attacked Ten Wen and her team with over twenty warriors, yet he was defeated miserably. He couldn't understand how it happened; it was as if he was fighting another team, not Ten Wen's team.
Though Ten Wen lost three of her teammates, compared to twenty people, it was nothing.
Without any expression on her face, Ten Wen stopped before him, and the deep-seated hatred in her heart erupted. "For my friends."
Whoosh!
Fu Shun's head was severed from his neck, blood splashing onto the cold, hard ground, forming a small pool.
Taking a deep breath, the two looked at each other and nodded. With that, they rushed to the northern part of the city, ready to assist other adventurers.
While some adventurers would fall in this chaos, others would rise from the ashes and become new beings. Tonight, the fate of Dongping City was being decided.
As for the cause of everything, it stood proudly like an unshakable mountain, overseeing everything. Right before it was hundreds of warriors, and among them were the Necoris.
Who would have expected the people of Dongping City to side with their lifelong enemies just to take down the Celestial Heavenly Store?
As the tension reached its crescendo, the entrance door creaked, pushed open, and heavy footsteps reverberated.
